The countdown begins to Lea Salonga’s performances in Adelaide this long weekend.
Over two nights, Ms Salonga will be gracing the stage of the iconic Festival Theatre to show the audience why she is a superstar in the eyes of Filipinos all around the world and a Broadway phenomenon at 18.
She is one of the international artists selected to perform at the 12th Annual Adelaide Cabaret Festival, alongside other strong talents such as Johanna Allen, Bernadette Robinson, Tim Freedman and Lenny Henry.
Kate Ceberano, a well-known Australian singer whose father is of Filipino descent, is this year’s artistic director and has generated a lot of buzz on the festival's ambitious line-up, inspired by the theme of ‘exploring the extraordinary’.
“This year, artists from around the world have been invited to Adelaide to disturb us, provoke us, be wild and fabulous,” said Ms Ceberano.
The festival is the largest festival of its type in the world and has attracted more than 48,000 attendees.
Sure to add to the record audience will be Ms Salonga’s Filipino-Australian community supporters from around the country.
